Director’s Note
A white Champa tree loomed over my school front yard in Nigeria. I recall the light shining through the branches and off the Champa flowers. The flowers were so delicate, so beautiful, and so fresh in fragrance. They listened as children told the tales of their day to their mothers- silent spectators of their chatter, laughter, and cries. It is this memory that has inspired my fondness for the champa flower and our rendition of its charismatic beauty.
