Director’s Note

Our Pearl Oyster Earrings are inspired by the scallop shell from the Birth of Venus painting by Sandro Botticelli, circa 1485. The Goddess of love and beauty, Venus, is seen here standing on this scalloped shell, pure and perfect like a pearl, it is said. As pearls play a distinctive part in AZURE’s design aesthetic, this imagery deeply resonated with me. I was moved to create a piece with a similar scalloped structure, organic elements, a feminine essence, and the overarching feeling that which blooms.
